In August 2016, we began our new blog, Pink Lemonade and Ribbons, a blog of food, life and survival. Karen and Kristine first meet in grade school, 4th grade at Southview Elementary in Roanoke Virginia. We love to try our recipes out on Kristine’s very picky eater, Whitney (staff Photographer) and Karen’s husband (Alan). Karen is our resident gardener and is helping Kristine become a better dirt digger. There is a peace to guarding and bringing life to our flowers. We love to shop the “dead plant area” of our local Lowe’s home improvement store. We feel we are bringing our “dead plants” back to life in a way like we were brought back. Karen is a 5 year survivor of breast cancer and Kristine was diagnosed in April 2016 with multiple myeloma, a blood plasma cancer. MM has a treatment but no cure. We both decided that good food, exercise and healthy life style choices will help us in this our battle of a lifetime. Not all our recipes are cancer fighters but may have recipes reviews that will be cancer healthy. We may post some what to eat before and after chemotherapy Karen comes to us with a degree in Marketing from Winthrop University and an 18 year career in banking. Kristine comes to us with undergraduate, masters and Au.D degrees in Audiology from Radford University and Arizona State. We hope you will like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Stumble Upon, and Pinterest. We so appreciate you supporting us on Pink Lemonade and Ribbons, a blog of food, lift and survival.
