So here I am. Waiting but for what? I am still in chemo but just once a week now. I am no longer employed and without insurance which is scary when you are fighting cancer. I am applying for Cobra and it is a pretty penny. I was not informed that my insurance ended in January until well into to March. This put me out of the 60 window required to apply for the ACA. I will get a much better price on insurance with the ACA. That is if those idiots in Washington do not screw it up.
I have to file an appeal and see if I can get in on the ACA. If I qualify for subsidiaries, it will be less expensive than Cobra. It is very easy to just assume everyone in this country will have Healthcare but it is not true. No one in this country should have to choose between food and shelter or Healthcare. Stress and worry is not good when you are battling a deadly disease!
I have gone back to one of my loves which is sewing. I have opened an Etsy shop. My plan is to make napkins (I found Hokie fabric!), coasters and baby burp cloths. I can get most fabris for custom orders. Visit my Etsy shop under hokienclt! I will accept custom orders for my non Hokie friends if I can get the fabric. For my WVU friends and family, I can get Mountaineer fabric too! Also, for my National Championship Tarheel friends, I have UNC fabric!
Let me know what I can make for you. I have some really cool black medallion fabric from which I will make some coasters because I only have a little. These coasters will go perfect in the modern designs I see all the time on HGTV! Let me know what you think!
I will be adding to my Etsy shop. I love to collect and decorate with cookbooks. I have a few in my shop now. I recently lost my Aunt Lou. She was an avid cook and had many cookbooks. I thought I did not have room for them but I found out I did with a little creativity. No way I could get rid of Aunt Lou’s cookbooks! They have too many wonderful memories!
That’s all for now. I will be back soon with pictures of my awesome trip to Claytor Lake State Park!
Be sure to check out my Etsy shop and spread the word!
